Our highly-skilled metrology department has been established to provide essential measurement capabilities required for precision moulded and complex medical devices.
Its intent is to reduce the timescale of medical device development through to production scale-up, and to provide confidence in the repeatable and measurable component tolerances and manufacturing accuracy.
We remain at the forefront of technological innovation and the introduction of in-house Computer Tomography (CT) scanning has demonstrated its value to customers in both New Product Introduction (NPI) and commercial manufacture.
The CT scanner significantly reduces the time required to generate full component dimensional inspection reports for mould tool approval. It also allows for quick diagnosis of product functionality, resulting in fewer alterations required further down the line.
All component deviations from the original design can be quickly identified by comparing the actual component scan with original CAD data. Individual components can be compared against one another to identify differences that provide valuable diagnostic clues for improvement.
For over 20 years we have been using Co-ordinate Measurement Machines (CMMs) for routinely measuring In Process Control (IPC) dimensions of moulded medical components. Our metrology team are experienced in providing the best solution from design through to fixture manufacture and qualification.
